WTF

In what has to be one of the funnier "headlines" in recent memory...

GUEST OPINION: WTF must be fully funded, 09-05-09

WTF! We're not fully funding WTF??!

With all the things that seem to be going wrong around here a WTF fund seems like something we SHOULD be funding!

Not enough money for firefighters and cops? WTF! Take 3 Million from the WTF fund. The roads need repair and our new snow removal policy is a moped with a snow shovel strapped to the front? WTF! Here's some money to take care of business.

Seriously WTF, at least in this case, stands for workforce training fund and the letter to the editor is perhaps worth a read and I think a better name. I however appreciated the chuckle.

Is the Govt Center rumor true that a Herald News employee provided the admnistration with the real identities of those commenting on the Herald site? My sales rep. at the Herald said a girl there was fired over this leak.

Is the Herald obligated to maintain that anonymous information or is it a privacy violation???? Can they actually fire someone for that????

I doubt the administation would want some of the information that has not been printed in the paper to come out if there is any retaliation towards those anonymous people.

I have to doubt that the HN would share that information with anyone. I'm not even sure they have direct access. I would think all of this is administrated by Gate House Media not here locally but from a corporate location.

Still, the safety and security in anonymity isn't a sure thing.

Commentors on the HN site have been talking about and their comments are off the site now...the HN didn't share the info...just one employee with ties to some people

keep in mind this could also be a tactic to get the commentors & bloggers to identify themselves accidently. could be bluffing.

I really don't like to think of this. I want to know who outed duclos on the blog. Is there a way to find out whether it was the HN? This is disturbing to me because there are plenty of school dept employees who comment there and it would come to an end if jobs were threatened.
