Vote for the Big Mamie!

The U.S. Mint will be releasing a new series of state quarters and has asked Governor Patrick to submit one preferred and three alternate national sites to be featured on the 'tails' side of the Massachusetts quarter.

The Governor is asking for public input by allowing people to vote from a list of selected sites. The U.S.S. Massachusetts is one of the sites that people can vote on!

Normally I don't like to tell people who to vote for, but I fully endorse the U.S.S. Massachusetts to represent us on the next series of state quarters. The Big Mamie is part of the official WWII memorial of the commonwealth and part of American history. I think it would be an incredible tribute to our state, our area, and to the WWII generation if she were selected.

Can we get a quarter with Bob Correia's big bulldog face and comb-over on it? That's a pretty good representation of what the city is about, ego's being preserved for all to see!

My vote came down to Big Mamie and the Miss Worcester Diner...this fabulous design tipped the scales for Big Mamie.

There are many good candidates to chose from, but obviously for me, and the focus of this blog, the Big Mamie is the pick hands down!

I think the U.S.S. Massachusetts is very worthy of consideration and having her grace the back of the state quarter would do a lot to promote Battleship Cove and our area.

Lefty I totally agree getting the big maime on the new state quarter would be fantastic..however i am intersted in whether you are going to cover the Keri Rodriques WSAR lawsuit..I read some troubling things about Keri by some former co workers at WSAR and other stations.I hope we the blogging community are being objective about this issue and not just siding with Keri because she is one of us please check this out http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,120524.0.html

I voted for the fisherman's memorial - Cape Ann in the heezy!

PS: Screw Keri Rodrigues. She's lucky they didn't tar and feather her ass on the way out the door.
