Mayors featured on SouthCoast Today

SouthCoast Today has a great interview with Mayor Ed Lambert and New Bedford's Mayor Scott Lang.

Really enjoyable read and I wanted to point it out to those who might have missed it.

I'm glad that Mayor Lambert is talking to at least one media outlet ...

It's been 5 days -- and still no returned phone call on the HUD issue ...

Maybe you need to invite him to Sagres!

If WSAR is picking up the tab for the meal I'd be glad to come with you!

Sagres is my favorite restaurant. I strongly recommend the Bife na frigideira de barro - Steak in a porcelain pan with fried eggs and round fries. Yummy!

On the HUD issue, how could Stephen Long write that Letter to the Editor and meet with the City Councilors in June and not mention anything to them about the compliance review?

This is a clear case for the need for charter revisions to allow the City Council to terminate employees.

Lunch for four on WSAR!

I'm not sure if this is cause for a charter revision (but if very well could be!) but certainly we need to thorough explanation of how this happened and make changes to make sure it never happens again. It's bad enough that we misused these funds, but even you assumed that the city did so unknowingly (and they should have known) how did we get to the point of having to pay monies back without our council being involved?
